Volunteer Coaching Opportunity with Let’s Get Ready!
Let’s Get Ready is a non-profit organization that provides low-income high school students with free SAT preparation, admissions counseling and other support services needed to gain admission to and graduate from college.
We are currently looking for college students to volunteer as coaches at the Malden High School Site. Classes are held each Tuesday (Math) and Thursday (Critical Reading/Writing) from 6pm to 9pm. This will be a one day per week commitment– the day you attend class depends on the subject you would like to coach. This is a great volunteer opportunity for college students. In addition to helping this underserved population, you can also receive volunteer hours, build leadership/tutoring skills, and join our E-Board!
Applications are currently being accepted. If you are interested in volunteering, please apply before Tuesday, September 23th so that you can meet the Site Directors and attend an orientation and training session soon after. Critical Reading/Writing Coaches will begin volunteering on Thursday, September 25th and Math Coaches will begin on Tuesday, September 30th.
Yissel Rodriguez and I are the Site Directors for the Malden LGR program (which is T-accessible on the green and orange lines.) We have both served as LGR coaches and directed the Malden site, so we know LGR and the Malden program very well. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!
