Research Assistant Position Available-Spanish Language Proficiency Required

The Research Assistant for the Chelsea STAR project will work from the Chelsea Collaborative, a non-profit human services organization in the City of Chelsea, MA (accessible via MBTA) to recruit and interview residents of Chelsea. Each interview lasts approximately 1 hour and covers topics including health status, social and life stressors, exposure to violence and neighborhood conditions, perceptions of the environment, use of green spaces, nutrition, etc. and is comprised of both open- and closed-ended questions. Recruitment is conducted going door-to-door. The STAR Research Assistant will be trained in human subjects protection (if not already), personal safety precautions, handling difficult situations in the field, and reporting abuse of a child, elder or disabled person. The student will work well in a team setting, be reliable and organized, and have a sense of humor. The position will pay $15 per hour and requires approximately 16.5 hours a week through the Spring semester. The Principal Investigator of the study is Prof. Madeleine Scammell.
