Small Grants Programme Announcement
Swasti, Health Resource Centre, India, is pleased to announce the availability of a new small grants programme for MPH candidates.
Background:
This Project is a European Union funded partnership project implemented by Swasti, a Health Resource Centre and Public Health Foundation of India. This is a three year project that aims to improve human resource policies, strategies and practices in the Health sector in India. This project is funded by the European Commission under the “Investing in People” thematic programme. This is a three year project for civil society organizations to work towards solutions on the critical issue of human resources in health. The project period is from February 2011 to January 2014.
The specific objectives of this project are:
(1) Construct a comprehensive knowledge base on key human Resource related issues, cutting across sector players
(2) Build capacities of key stakeholders to advocate, absorb and learn from each other.
(3) Build and operate advocacy and cross learning platforms.
Swasti is a health resource centre that enhances health and well being through innovation, particularly for the marginalized. Swasti works aim to advance health by mobilizing communities to better address healthcare priorities, and by improving the efficiencies and effectiveness of organizations in the health sector. We combine sector knowledge with gender and equity perspectives and management skills. Swasti is a registered not-for-profit society that is a part of the Catalyst Group of institutions that has been working in the development sector for over a decade. In addition to Swasti, the group comprises of Catalyst Management Services, a consultancy, research and training organization; and Vrutti, a livelihoods resource centre. We work with a range of organizations from grassroots community based organizations to NGOs, bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors, government departments and academic and corporate bodies.
The Small grants programme is towards developing a repository of all available literature on Human resources for health in India. The Desktop Interactive System should serve as an easy to use, and access literature around HRH issues in India. It will also contain 10 factsheets of different thematic areas that will be identified later.
Period: 10st May 2011 to 30th June 2011.
Grant amount: USD 1000
Swasti invites MPH/MHA candidates who are interest, in applying for the small grants either individually or in a team. A high quality module is expected out of this project. Interested students and teams can apply by submitting a two page approach note with their short profiles.
