When did you start at BU?
I started at BU by taking a tour of campus in 2013—I never applied, go figure—but when I began freelance writing in the MarCom department in October 2022, it felt full-circle. In December of that year, I went full-time.
Why did you join the DEI Committee?
I joined the DEI committee to help build a more robust, friendly, inclusive community within the MarCom department. As a straight, white guy, I’m mindful that my voice isn’t the one that needs to be elevated; but I feel strongly that fostering a diverse workplace is the responsibility of everyone, and my priority is to shoulder some of the background work needed to enrich our office.
What item would you hoard if you learned it was being discontinued?
If I’m honest, I don’t love the idea of hoarding—if something is scarce, I’d rather savor it than save it up. BUT—if LEGO went bankrupt, I would absolutely make a run at my nearest aisle of plastic bricks.
