To sponsor, facilitate, and communicate initiatives focused on the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the culture, practices, and policies of External Affairs.

Statement on Furthering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We will foster a culture of belonging and promote opportunities for meaningful connections with others. We will listen to understand and encourage an open flow of communication and information within our workplace. We will be transparent in our decision-making and actions. We will embrace and celebrate diversity and be respectful of everyone. We will be aware of our actions and their impact. We will honor multiple perspectives. We will provide a safe space to give feedback without fear of retribution or retaliation. We will build a community that continuously improves and grows through advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our Focus

The 2024–2025 Steering Committee is currently focusing on community building and navigating multiple changes in leadership at a department and University level.

The 2023–2024 Steering Committee focused on addressing exclusionary conduct data from the Belonging & Culture Survey and building better community bonds. See the 2023–2024 Year-End Report for more information.
