Size Limits and Warning Notifications
E-mail Quotas & Restrictions
Because storage space on the Exchange server is limited, the following conditions apply to your email account:
- Maximum size of mailbox: 100 MB
- Maximum size of file attachments: Attachments internal to Exchange are limited only by mailbox size
- Maximum number of recipients on any message: 250 recipients
Note: In order to protect the e-mail environment from viruses and malicious software, certain file attachments may be blocked from your mailbox (e.g. attachments ending in “.bat, .mdb, or.exe”).
Size Limit Notifications
- When your mailbox reaches 80 MB, you will receive an automated message from the Exchange Administrator letting you that you are running out of space.
- When your mailbox reaches 100 MB, you will not be able to send any e-mail until you clear out some of your email space.
- When your mailbox reaches 150 MB, you will not be able to send or receive any e-mail until you clear out some space.
Note: Your Deleted and Sent Item messages stay on the server and are counted as part of your total folder size until you empty them.
