Renting Additional Equipment

Additional equipment is defined as any equipment not possessed by ESO, but provided by a third party company or service, that is needed for any period of time.

The departmental Data Security Administrator (DSA) or Data Trustee must notify the ESO Network Administrator in writing as soon as the rental need has been determined or a minimum of 4 weeks ahead of the date the equipment will be needed.

In the rental request, include:

  • The business need
  • Equipment specifications such as make, model number, size, quantity, etc.
  • The duration of use or return date of the equipment
  • Vendor contact information.

Please note that the cost of rentals is usually the responsibility of the department making the request. In some cases, based on the identified project or business need, ESO will assume responsibility for all expenses associated with the rental of equipment.
