Thursday, December 10, 2015
11 am – 11:50 am
Medical School Instructional Building (Building L), Room L109C
Are you an intermediate-level SAS user? Learn some new programming techniques to enhance your data management and statistical analysis skills at a seminar featuring presentations by two of the senior SAS programming staff of the BUSPH Data Coordinating Center. Presenters and topics will include:
Sharon Coleman, MS, MPH: “SAS UTF”
Global public health initiatives are critical approaches to improving the health and well-being of populations worldwide. The implementation of the SAS Unicode server, a SAS session that uses the Unicode Transformation Format (UTF-8), allows the encoding of characters from multiple languages and bridges the language gap. The use of the SAS UTF will be discussed.
Emily Sisson, MA: “SAS for Windows”
SAS for Windows can be an extremely powerful piece of software, not only for analyzing data, but also for organizing and maintaining output and permanent datasets. By employing pipes and operating system (‘x’) commands within a SAS session, you can easily and effectively manage files of all types stored on your local network.
This seminar is intended for researchers with intermediate-level SAS programming experience. Attendees will learn new SAS programming skills with practical applications for their work.
