Creative Writing Workshops

Creative writing workshops form the core of our program’s curriculum. Each student takes four workshops in their genre of study with their cohort; two workshops per genre are taken in the fall semester, and two are taken in the spring semester. Fiction students take courses in short story craft, short story revision, and novel/novella craft. Poetry students take poetry workshops with three different instructors; one of these workshops will include dedicated attention to the sequencing of a poetry manuscript.

Graduate-level creative writing workshops offered during the fall and spring are reserved for MFA students in the Creative Writing Program. Those interested in taking Creative Writing courses should consider our undergraduate offerings or the graduate-level interdisciplinary workshop we offer during the summer sessions.
