FAQ: Tickets will be required for 2025 BU Commencement (They’re Free)
Graduates to get four free tickets through their phone and will be able to request more (also at no cost)


All guests attending the All-University Commencement on Sunday, May 18, 1 pm, at Nickerson Field will be required to have tickets for entrance to the field.

  • On Tuesday, April 8, graduates will receive an email with a personalized link from commtix@bu.edu, letting them know the process to obtain tickets through Tassel (higher ed ticketing platform.)
    • After April 8, if you believe you are eligible to participate and did not receive the email with personalized link, please fill out this form and we can check your status.
  • Each graduate will have to register for themselves and will then be allotted up to 4 tickets for guests, but can also request additional tickets. Please delete tickets you no longer need.*
  • Additional tickets will be issued upon request for as long as capacity allows. Approvals take a few days and then will appear in the Tassel portal. Additional tickets should be requested by close of business on Friday, May 16, to allow for the Commencement Team to authorize them.
  • The graduates will be responsible for “delivering” these electronic tickets to their guests by emailing them to guests via Tassel.
  • Only registered graduating students can order tickets for their parents, family members, and guests.

*Deleting Tickets
Please delete tickets you will not be using from your account so that another guest can use them. Log into the Tassel portal at bu.tassel.com. For each ticket you no longer need, click the trashcan icon in the upper right order.

Please note that the tickets are ONLY required for the All-University Commencement on May 18.  School/college convocations will not require tickets for family and friends wishing to attend and there will be no limit to the number of guests graduates may bring to the convocation. The convocation is the ceremony where graduates are individually recognized by having their names called as they cross the stage and handed the diploma cover.
