Complementing the Proceedings of the IEEE April 2018 special issue on Smart Cities, the webinar can help you understand the concept of a “smart city” and how the smart grid, a key enabling technology for the implementation of a smart city concept works. Some representative examples of smart-grid based smart city projects will be shared. Smart cities will be discussed from the viewpoint of cyber-physical systems. Ongoing projects featuring a “smart parking” system, a “street bump” system, and adaptive traffic light control, will provide perspective to the discussion.
