CISE Industry Roundtable: Sam Howes
This semester’s first CISE Industry Round Table Event was led by Samuel Howes, (ENG ’14) software developer at Mingle Analytics, a healthcare startup. Faculty host, Ayse Coskun, graciously introduced her former student to a group of 10 students who eagerly listened as Sam discussed how his experience at BU prepared him for a professional career where he now focuses on real-world projects.
“Mingle Analytics helps physician practices and health systems thrive in the business and practice of medicine. Since 2012, our products and services have been used by nearly 30,000 healthcare providers and 1,275 healthcare practices to report quality data to Medicare. Healthcare is rapidly changing, moving from a model of fee-for-service, to payment for outcomes and value. Physicians and practices are struggling to keep up. Each year brings new requirements to track and submit data, creating a dizzying array of incentives and penalties.”
