Project Roadmap

Wondering how CIDA approaches a typical project with University sponsors/clients? Our roadmap consists of seven key milestones, each designed to guide projects from inception to completion. By following this structured approach, CIDA aims to streamline its project management processes, enhance accountability, and maximize the success rate of its service offerings. This systematic framework enables CIDA to maintain consistency across diverse projects while allowing for agility and adaptability.

  • Project Intake: This is the initial stage where new project requests are received and logged. It involves capturing basic information about the proposed project, its objectives, and the requesting stakeholder.
  • Investigation & Project Charter: A thorough analysis of the project’s feasibility, scope, and potential impact is conducted. The findings are documented in a project charter, which outlines the project’s goals, stakeholders, high-level requirements, and estimated resources.
  • Manager Review: The project charter is presented to management and sponsors for evaluation and approval. This stage ensures that the project aligns with organizational goals and has the necessary support to proceed.
  • Convert to Project: Upon approval, the initiative is officially designated as a project. This involves assigning a project lead and allocating initial resources.
  • Establish Project Tasks and Milestones: Key tasks, milestones, and deadlines are defined, submitted to the project management platform we use, and communicated to all stakeholders/participants involved in the project.
  • Project Work: This is the execution phase where the actual project activities are carried out according to the charter. It involves regular progress tracking, team coordination, and addressing any challenges that may arise.
  • Project Close: The final stage where project deliverables are completed and accepted. It includes conducting a project review, documenting lessons learned, and formally closing out the project.
