Kevin Coombs
Senior Data Analyst, DA
Kevin has over twenty years of experience in higher education, in areas that range from providing administrative support for senior leadership to analytics and reporting for enrollment management. Data has been the common element throughout his time in the education field.
A dedicated life-long learner, Kevin completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees while working at Northeastern University. This experience provided the unique opportunity to apply classroom learning in areas such as statistical analysis, survey research, and mixed research methods with on-the-job problem solving. Some examples of projects and initiatives where these various skills were applied include: the adoption and implementation of the Coeus research administration system to replace a mix of home grown ad hoc systems at Northeastern University; supporting the establishment of an institutional research office integrating data from across several divisions at Berklee College of Music; developing, implementing, and analyzing a series of student-engagement surveys at Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies. Kevin joined Boston University’s Continuous Improvement and Data Analytics team in March of 2023.
When not digging into data, Kevin enjoys listening to and playing music, and plays guitar in a band performing the music of the B 52s, as well as other bands performing original and cover songs.
