These Programs Are For

• English learners at a high beginner level and above
• Learners who want to study English for academic, professional, or personal goals
• Individuals who want to pursue academic goals, such as an undergraduate or graduate education or an academic certificate

Program Features

• Customize your program of study: take language skills-focused classes at your level and 1 elective class
• Take advantage of university admissions resources, including free college advising
• Experience life on a university campus through optional Boston University on-campus housing
• Engage with BU undergraduate and graduate students through student organizations, activities, and sporting events

Curriculum

• Take skills courses at your individual language level in speaking and listening, academic writing, and reading and vocabulary
• Choose from elective courses in areas such as business communication, STEM, media news, Boston and American culture, or test preparation
• Develop skills for global competency and intercultural communication including teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and more
• Join activities such as team research projects, guest speakers, and field trips

Class Schedule

Students participate in 2 skills classes 5 mornings per week and one elective class 2 afternoons per week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday):

• Senior in high school or high school graduate
• Able to understand, speak, write, and read simple expressions for basic needs
