  • Students interested in developing English language skills for business and entrepreneurship
  • Students who want to experience the innovative start-up environment of Boston

Program Features

  • Visit Boston-area innovation centers like the Cambridge Innovation Center, Boston University’s BUild Lab, District Hall, etc.
  • Learn from expert guest speakers including real-life entrepreneurs connected to innovative businesses and professors from BU’s Questrom School of Business
  • Develop language skills to present a 1-minute elevator pitch for a new product or service
  • Collaborate with a team to present your product or service as part of a Capstone Project

Curriculum

  • Business Study: Learn about business concepts (i.e. researching markets and competitors, developing and presenting a SWOT analysis, preparing an elevator pitch)
  • Language Study: Develop business language and communication skills (i.e. collaborative brainstorming, presenting and selling a product or service, expressing and defending your ideas)

I was required to do a lot of presentations and I was very comfortable presenting because this skill was acquired at CELOP. It was a great place to master the language.

Class Schedule

Students participate in morning CELOP business English classes 5 days per week. Field visits and guest speaker will take place in the morning or afternoon:
