Kent Burgoing worked at the Forrest Lab focusing on nanofabricating organic electronic materials for precise cell attachment in the summer of 2021. In this time, he developed a quantitative model for the evaluation of organic electronic device packaging by conducting research on the process of performing an Electrical Calcium Test.
More about My Experience
This was Kent’s first research experience. While there was a lot to learn about benchwork and the research topic, he found the lab community to be very supportive in getting him up to speed. He encourages future REU participants to not be afraid to ask questions.
After completing his summer REU experience, Kent earned his AS from Los Angeles City College. He then went on to obtain a BS in Chemical Engineering from UCLA and an MS in Information and Data Science from the University of California-Berkeley. He currently works as an Environmental Engineer.
