Muna participated in the Nordsletten lab with mentor Javiera Jilberto. Her work involved testing simulations of computational models of engineered heart tissues.
More about My Experience
Muna was interested in the use of biomedical engineering in assisting in the diagnosis or treatment of immunocompromised conditions such as cancer. Muna wanted to pursue a career in public health advocacy and use nanotechnology’s present role in patients’ health to inform future methods of treatment suitable for underrepresented populations.
Muna was a senior at Smith College in Northampton, MA when she became an REU. She has since graduated and now works in industry as an associate engineer.
