Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR)

Mission Statement

To conduct state-of-the-art research and training in behavioral science and health behavior change using digital technologies to improve health among diverse and underserved populations, across the lifespan.

Specifically, our focus is to:

  • Co-design and co-develop digital platforms with target populations using mixed methods.
  • Develop and test novel methods of motivating health behavior change through digital platforms.
  • Integrate digital technologies into medical and dental settings and other public health channels.
  • Investigate the psychosocial mechanisms of health behavior change.
  • Develop and test health behavior change interventions for a variety of underserved groups and subpopulations.
  • Participate in transdisciplinary collaborations to develop innovative approaches to changing health behaviors and improving health outcomes.

The Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR) is the hub for Boston University’s Mobile & Electronic Health-ARC (ME-ARC), which is a transdisciplinary digital health collaborative focused on research and training. More information about Boston University’s ME-ARC can be found here.
