Evangeline Machlin, a professor emerita of theater arts
at the College of Fine Arts from the early 1960s to 1972, died on February
11 at the age of 95. Machlin has been credited with helping a number of
theater students achieve greatness on Broadway and in motion pictures,
including Joanne Woodward, Steve McQueen, Jane Alexander, and Faye Dunaway
(CFA’62), shown here in CFA’s 1962 production of Twelfth Night.
