Julia Child, known as "the French chef," raises a glass of champagne to toast receiving the Ordre National de la Legion dHonneur the highest award given by the French government on November 19 at Le Meridien hotel. The black-tie gala benefited the Julia Child Scholarship Fund for students in the master of liberal arts in gastronomy program at BUs Metropolitan College. Jacques Pepin (right), Childs longtime friend and collaborator, acted as master of ceremonies.
