Summer Term 1999

www.bu.edu/summerterm

For students who are staying in the area this summer -- along with faculty and staff who are thinking about taking advantage of their tuition remission benefit -- it's never too early to start thinking about Summer Term at BU. Telephone registration begins on April 20; walk-in registration begins April 26.

The sidewalks on Commonwealth Avenue are far from deserted after May: more than 7,000 students take 550 undergraduate and graduate courses from 40-plus academic fields in the summer. "More Than Meets the Eye" is an appropriate theme for this term, because the Summer Term bulletin on the Web includes not only a course catalog, but also a schedule of the Summer Concert Series (four performances will be held in the Tsai Performance Center and Marsh Chapel), additional recreation activities such as the Tanglewood Institute in Lenox, Mass., and a "Summer in the City" guide.

The Summer Term bulletin also has information on neighborhood jobs for students; BU's TestPrep Program, which provides preparation for the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and other exams; Summerfest, which includes weekly entertainment on the GSU plaza and Fenway Park outings; special programs such as Evergreen, a specially designed course of study and activities for those 60 and older; and various internships.

Summer Term's six-week sessions begin shortly after Commencement. Summer I runs from May 25 to July 3; Summer II begins July 6 and ends August 14.
