“Here’s what I love about Boston University,” says Kati Reusche, BU’s new assistant director for international alumni networks. “It’s the most Bostonian thing there is. There’s such a vital pulse and energy—it’s like a living organism.”
Reusche is eager to represent that BU spirit in countries all over the globe—whether they’ve already formed strong alumni networks or are just starting to bring fellow Terriers together. In her new role, Reusche works with alumni volunteers to develop events and programs that will foster both professional and social connections among alumni.
“BU has some fascinating hubs of alumni presence all over the world,” she says, “from emerging networks in India and the Middle East to our long-standing networks in Great Britain and Asia.”
As Reusche sees it, those hubs and networks are, collectively, a unique personal and professional resource. “BU’s alumni have an amazing talent pool to call upon: each other. Among their fellow alumni, they can find individuals to help with anything and everything—whether it’s networking, getting a foot in the door, finding a mentor, or meeting people in a new city. And this is true no matter where you are in the world.”
Formerly the project manager and executive assistant to consul at the Consulate of Switzerland/Swissnex Boston, Reusche is fluent in German, French, and English and is a Latin scholar. She earned a Master of Arts in American and German Studies at the University of Leipzig, in Leipzig, Germany, and a Graduate in Project Management at Boston University.
