Name: Julia Delogu
Age: 21
School: ENG'09
Major: Aerospace engineering
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Bostonia: What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
Julia: I’m involved in the Society of Women Engineers, Engineers Without Borders, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics; I’ve done intramural sports — soccer and softball. I’m an RA in South Campus, and I work in the ENG undergraduate program office.
Bostonia: What do you do in your downtime?
Julia: What’s that?
Bostonia: Where do you live?
Julia: At 515 Park Drive — the haunted building. The Boston Strangler murdered someone in the basement. I heard about it after I moved in. I didn’t tell my residents; I didn’t want to scare them.
Bostonia: Why did you choose your major?
Julia: When I was young, I had a swing set in my yard. When I was on the swing going up, I always wanted to keep going. I figured this was one way to do that.
Bostonia: Can you build a plane yet?
Julia: Not yet. In Introduction to Aircraft Performance, we got to build a wing and test it to see if it met the specifications.
Bostonia: What are your post-BU plans?
Julia: I’m still working on it.
Bostonia: What’s one of your biggest accomplishments?
Julia: I was on the crew team freshman year. I was proud I stuck with it all year. It was really eye-opening and exciting.
Bostonia: Did you row?
Julia: I was a coxswain — I yelled. I learned how to command eight girls in a boat.
