Erin Romp to Fight Discrimination in Summer Internship
Erin Romp (LAW’09) receives George P. Napolitano Internship Fund award.

Erin Romp (LAW’09) has received this year’s George P. Napolitano Internship Fund, which provides one law student annually with an internship at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Romp is getting some hands-on legal experience this summer in a field in which she has a strong interest. The fund is administered by the Massachusetts Bar Foundation and honors School of Law alum George P. Napolitano (LAW’72) for his commitment to discrimination and employment law.
The award will help Romp refine her writing, mediation, and litigation skills. She hopes to use her skills to combat discrimination of any kind and says she is particularly interested in using mediation to resolve disputes. From her first day on the job, she says, she has been able to fulfill her commitment to helping victims of discrimination by working one-on-one with people who believe they have been illegally discriminated against.
“I know I will always remain committed to discrimination laws,” she says. “And I’m very glad the internship fund decided to take a chance on someone with no real experience.”
