Singing from the heart

Raphael Arar (CAS’08) writes and sings heartfelt songs influenced musically by Elliot Smith and Bob Dylan, among others, and lyrically by such poets as Robert Frost and ee cummings. He has played gigs all over the United States, including a 14-state tour, and has shared the stage with Hawthorne Heights and Time & Distance, to name a few. The music major is also programming director of WTBU, BU’s student-run radio station, and vice president of the BU Composers and Musicians Club.
Arar will perform at BU Central on Thursday, November 9, at 10 p.m.; doors open at 8:30, with open mic at 9. Click here to hear his song “Checkers.”
