History of American landscape design; historic preservation; environmental history

I earned my PhD in the American and New England Studies Program with an abiding interest in American cultural landscapes, architectural history, and historic preservation. In particular, I am fascinated by how architectural history intersects with environmental history and material culture studies. Before coming to Boston University, I worked as an interpreter and researcher for a number of public historic sites, as well as a professional gardener and farmer. My current work investigates the built environment of Massachusetts’ state forests.
