American Studies for the Future Lecture Series
American Studies for the Future Lecture Series is presented by the American Studies Program at Boston University. The next event is a Keynote Lecture by Koritha Mitchell on April 29, 2026, at 4pm. She will give a reading from her current project, Blissfully Childfree: A Memoir in Letters. This event will take place in Room 426, 213 Bay State Road, BU Hillel (4th floor).
Following Prof. Mitchell’s lecture, all attendees of this event are invited to the American Studies end-of-year reception in 226 Bay State Road, Room B06.
Robert Pinsky & Dan Chiasson in Conversation about New Books
Come celebrate the publication of Dan Chiasson’s Bernie for Burlington (Knopf, 2026) and Robert Pinsky’s On Poetry, Culture, and Democracy and The First Two Books of Poems (Princeton University Press, 2026). A reception and book signing will follow the event which will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

Sponsored by the American Studies Program at BU, the Americanist Forum functions like a conference panel/symposium, with multiple speakers delivering papers during a given session. Each semester, there is an open call for papers for BU students in the humanities (graduate students or advanced undergraduates).

Archives and Knowledge Keepers: Native American and Indigenous Studies and the Art of History
This one day symposium showcased early career scholars whose work engages Indigenous modes of knowledge production and might incorporate textual archives but also artifacts, oral traditions, and non-alphabetic material texts. May 4, 2023 | 10am-5pm
