This 500 level studio course is an introduction to various printmaking techniques for graduate students or for those who need a refresher course. We will monotypes and monoprints, relief printmaking, basic etching, collograph, image transfer, pronto plates and polymer platemaking for photo images. Meeting once a week for 3 hours, each lesson will focus on a specific technique at a level that will allow students to work further on their own. Students do not have to be printmakers or photographers, but those who find these techniques will be useful in their studio practice. Print Lab is a 2 Unit course. Students must enroll in 2 units. |
