Course is 2 Units, Topic is "Arcs & Sparks: Welding Techniques and Concepts":
This course provides an introduction to the concepts and skills required to safely operate a multitude of metalworking tools and machines. Tools and topics covered include: Smithing and forming, drilling and tapping, MIG, TIG torch and stick welding as well as techniques to preserve and treat ferric metals. Ultimately, students will leave with a full understanding of the CFA welding facility and the potential to create and operate in the space safely. 2 units. |

Topic is "Intro to Papermaking", students must register for 2.0 units.
Description: This studio course focuses on the two thousand year history of handmade paper, it's history in both Eastern and Western production, as well as more contemporary practices such as pulp painting, sheet formation using fibers from plants and textiles, and working with molds for three-dimensional objects. Students will be required to do one research paper on a specific topic within handmade paper, and create paper works that show technical prowess as well as incorporating paper in their own creative works. |
