(Pre Requisite: CFA AR121) In this course, students will explore material, form, and construction through traditional and experimental mold-making and casting techniques. This course provides students with the skillset to utilize molds and casts both conceptually and physically while evolving towards increasingly individualized, independent artistic practices and projects. We will approach techniques traditional within the art historical cannon as a starting point for experimentation and broader contemporary conversations. Students will be encouraged to develop an intuitive understanding of form and material unique to their perspective.
