• SED CE 850: Proseminar on Counseling and Psychotherapy Supervision and Consultation
  Introduction to contemporary counseling and psychotherapy supervision and consultation theory, research and practice. Examines current models and relevant efficacy research, encourages students to identify models and approaches that are consistent with their developing professional theoretical orientation and interests. 2 cr. Either sem.
• SED CE 851: Proseminar on Vocational Psychology
  An advanced exploration of contemporary vocational theory, research, and practice. Examines current research and pedagogy in vocational psychology, particularly in relation to equity, social justice, and multiculturalism. 2cr. Either sem.
• SED CE 852: Prevention in Counseling Psychology
  An advanced exploration of contemporary counseling psychology research and methods in the field of prevention, with a particular focus on issues of equity, social justice, and multiculturalism. 2cr. Either sem.
• SED CE 853: Proseminar on Counseling Health Psychology
  Critical reviews of contemporary counseling psychology research topics and methods in the field of health psychology. Issues of equality and social justice, and multiculturalism will be explored in relation to health and wellness promotion and outcomes. 2 cr. Either sem.
• SED CE 854: Proseminar on Advanced Research in Counseling Psychology
  An advanced exploration of contemporary research topics and methods in the field of Counseling Psychology. Students develop research ideas that will advance the counseling psychology knowledge base. 2cr. Either sem.
• SED CE 856: Seminar: Counseling Psychology
  Introduction to professional psychology, its history and standards. Current status and directions in counseling psychology. Ethical principles and behavior. 1cr. Either sem.
• SED CE 926: Advanced Clinical Child Assessment Practicum
  This serves as an advanced practicum addressing the domain of clinical child assessment. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based assessment practices and culturally competent, ecologically-based, case conceptualization. Fldwk w/ seminar. Instructor permission required. 2cr. Either sem.
• SED CE 946: Advanced Practicum
  Supervised field experience with students assuming major responsibility for counseling, testing, placement, and follow-up of clients. Fieldwork w/lecture. Variable credit. Either sem.
• SED CE 947: Externship Practicum Placement
  Supervised field experience completed in the 4th year or beyond with students assuming major responsibility for counseling, testing, placement, and follow- up of clients. Fieldwork w/lecture. Variable credit. Either sem.
• SED CE 948: Practicum in Supervision in Counseling
  Examination of supervision of counseling in theory, process, and practice. Assumption of direct supervisory responsibility. Permission of the instructor required. Fldwk w/ seminar. Variable credit. Either sem.
• SED CE 949: APPIC Internship in Counseling Psychology
  APPIC internship, with students assuming major responsibility for counseling, testing, placement, and follow-up of clients. Fieldwork. 2 cr. Either sem.
• SED CF 510: Child and Adolescent Mental Health
  Provides students with initial competencies to understand, assess, and critique diagnostic issues of the major psychological disorders of childhood and adolescence. Cross-cultural comparisons introduce students to a wide variety of help-seeking and help-giving models to assist children and adolescents coping with adversity. • SED CF 617: Bereavement Care
  Examines theories about loss and bereavement and individual responses to various types of losses. Prepares students to provide bereavement interventions for individuals and groups. 4 cr
• SED CF 737: Working with Parents
  Examines principles for organizing individual and group parenting education that builds on parental knowledge and responds to parental needs. Examines supportive, therapeutic, and educational models, materials, and resources. Develops communication skills and leadership capacities to work with parents in school, healthcare, family support, and home settings. 4 cr
• SED CH 300: Methods of Instruction: Elementary 1-6
  Develops pre-service teachers' understandings of the content and methods of instruction in the language arts, social studies, and science. The course focuses on elements of curriculum design; teaching strategies, and institutional policies and practices at the elementary level. Attention is given to providing effective instruction across the curriculum to culturally and linguistically diverse learners. Instructor permission required. Seminar with fieldwork. 10 cr.   Examines theories of and develops specific competencies in reading and language arts, social studies and science education; general teaching strategies; basic elements of curriculum design; and institutional policies and practices of elementary education. Develops competency in providing effective instruction across the curriculum to culturally and linguistically diverse learners. Includes application of these competencies in field settings.   Examines theories of and develop specific competencies in science education; general teaching strategies; basic elements of curriculum design; and institutional policies and practices of elementary education. Develops competency in providing effective science instruction across the curriculum to culturally and linguistically diverse learners. 3 cr.
• SED CH 555: Student-Teaching Practicum: Elementary 1-6
  Supervised student teaching in a classroom for grades 1-6. Includes curriculum development, methods of instruction, and evaluation of the learner. Open only to degree candidates who have completed CH300. Fldwk w/ seminar. 10 cr.
