Military Programs

Offered on-base in Massachusetts (Hanscom AFB), the Graduate Certificate in Project Management delivers comprehensive knowledge of essential techniques for successful, cost-effective management of both large- and small-scale projects. Under the guidance of distinguished faculty, you will examine detailed case studies, conduct project simulations, and gain both theoretical and practical expertise that will prepare you for a wide variety of project management-related careers.

The Graduate Certificate in Project Management also provides excellent preparation for the certification examination for the Project Management Professional (PMP®)—an internationally recognized credential that denotes expertise in project management. Applicants who have already passed the Project Management Institute’s PMP® certification examination may be eligible to receive a course waiver for MET AD 642. Learning Outcomes

  • Proficiency in developing a project management life cycle.
  • Expertise in all basic project management tools and techniques, with an emphasis in communications, risk analysis, cost estimation and budgeting, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of tools for project scheduling, templates for project management and communication, and techniques to measure cost variance, schedule variance, and earned value.

Admissions Information

A 3.0 GPA is required for certificate award, and no course with a grade below B– may be credited toward the certificate. Individuals considering using certificate courses toward the Master of Science in Administrative Studies or a specific online Master of Science in Management must (a) apply to the program prior to completing two courses; (b) recognize that grades earned in certificate courses will not be used in the admission decision process; and (c) meet the department’s academic admission requirements.

The four-course curriculum for the Graduate Certificate in Project Management may be completed in an online or in-class format and fulfills the core course requirements of the Master of Science in Project Management.

Prerequisites

A bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited institution, with an undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 (3.0 the last two years) or successful completion of the GMAT.
