This course will analyze the profession of teaching with regard to what happens in classrooms and how teachers interact with colleagues, supervisors, and parents. Students will come away with an in-depth understanding of debates surrounding pre-service teaching, merit pay, certification, teacher unions, tenure, and professional development.
