Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Pre-Medical Studies
In conjunction with the College of Arts & Sciences, this certificate program permits those with bachelor’s degrees to pursue the course requirements for admission to medical school and other health career programs. Students are required to have at least a 3.3 undergraduate grade point average for admission to this certificate program.
Certificate Requirements
The following eleven courses make up the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Pre-Medical Studies program. To earn the certificate, students must take a minimum of 8 courses as determined and approved in consultation with their Academic Advisors:
Calculus (choose one course)
- CAS MA 121 Calculus for the Life and Social Sciences 1
- CAS MA 122 Calculus for the Life and Social Sciences 2
- MET MA 123 Calculus 1
- MET MA 124 Calculus 2
Statistics (choose one course)
- MET or CAS MA 113 Elementary Statistics
- CAS MA 115 Statistics 1
- CAS MA 116 Statistics 2
- MET or CAS MA 213 Basic Probability and Statistics
- MET or CAS MA 214 Applied Statistics
Physics (choose two courses)
- MET or CAS PY 105 Elementary Physics 1
- MET or CAS PY 106 Elementary Physics 2
General Chemistry (choose two courses)
- MET or CAS CH 101 General Chemistry 1
- MET or CAS CH 102 General Chemistry 2
Organic Chemistry (choose two courses)
- MET or CAS CH 203 Organic Chemistry 1
- MET or CAS CH 204 Organic Chemistry 2
Biology (minimum of two courses)
- MET or CAS BI 107 Biology 1
- MET or CAS BI 108 Biology 2
- More advanced biology courses with advisor approval
Biochemistry (choose one course)

Certificate students are eligible for assistance and letters of recommendation from the Pre-Medical Advising office in the College of Arts & Sciences.
