Topic for Fall 2009: Midrash. The aim is to learn to read midrash, the distinctively Rabbinic approach to Biblical interpretation. This course examines the ways that the Rabbis read the Bible, as well what midrashic literature tells us about the Rabbis, their experiences, and their ideology.
