A seven-part course for first-year residents comprising the following seminars: 1st and 2nd sem. OR 805.1 Orthodontic Fundamentals: Reading, PPT presentations and discussion for orientation. Drs. Will, Masoud and faculty. 4 cr, 1st summer, 80 hours OR 805.2 Biomechanics: Theories & principles of orthodontic biomechanics and OR 805.3 Diagnosis & Treatment Planning: Developing basic skills in orthodontic diagnosis & treatment planning. Dr. Blau. 3 cr, 1st and 2nd sem. 60 hours OR 805.4 Scope of Orthodontics: Examination of the rationale for clinical orthodontics. Dr. Drizen. 4 cr, 1st and 2nd sem. 80 hours OR 805.5 Literature Review: Current topics related to orthodontic clinical practice. Dr. Frydman. 4 cr, 1st and 2nd sem. 60 hours OR 805.6 Diagnosis and Occlusion. Examining new diagnostic methods as well as concepts in occlusion related to orthodontics. Drs. Rigali and Will, 1 cr, 1st and 2nd sem. 15 hours OR 805.7 Non-Bracket Therapy: Selecting cases, prescribing and administering Invisalign therapy. Dr. Blau. 1 cr, 1st and 2nd sem. 20 hours
