Prereq: consent of instructor. This course will review the foundations of counseling theory including psychoanalytic theory, Rogerian theory, self psychology, behavioral theory, and cognitive approaches to counseling. Techniques and strategies such as Rational-Emotive therapy, Dilectical Behavior theory and group therapy will also be examined. 3 cr, 1st semester.
