Numerical Methods and Modeling in Biomedical Engineering
ENG BE 503
This course will sample key problems in various traditional and growing areas of biomedical engineering and computational and numerical approaches to address them. Broadly speaking areas in molecular bioengineering and protein conformations, cellular mechanics and migration, imaging, biophysics and informatics will be addressed through a combination of lecture and lab. The various modules covering the above mentioned key areas will focus on both the underlying mathematical and numerical foundations and efficient computational strategies to address outstanding problems in molecular, cellular and tissue bioengineering. The course will be open to MS, MEng and PhD students as well as qualified seniors. Undergrads (in 503) will have different final project than graduate students. The scope and expectations will be different from undergrads and graduate student final assignments.
