As Director, Mark Connellan oversees all aspects of Boston University’s Sydney programs. He has served as Director since 2004 and has taught the Australian Culture and Society course since its inception in 1992. He has also coordinated the Boston University School of Education Sydney Practicum since 1993.
Mark is a graduate of the University of Sydney with First Class Honours and the University Medal in Education. His research interests and publications are in the areas of youth cultures, sports and leisure, gender and masculinities, and Australian identity. He has taught at the University of Sydney in Social and Policy studies, Human Movement and as a guest lecturer in Gender Studies.
He has served on many committees at the University of Sydney, including the Faculty of Education Advisory Committee, for nine years as the Executive Vice-President of SUSport and as Chair of the Scholarship and History Committees of SUSport.
