As Director of the China Center, Kevin Wang oversees all aspects of BU’s Study Abroad Shanghai programs. He manages and recruits staff and instructors, as well as develops curricula, internships, and student life activities. He also leads office operations and health, safety, and security efforts. Additionally, Kevin develops and maintains relationships with institutions and organizations in China that directly relate to the Center’s operations, and he takes an active role in the University’s outreach and recruitment efforts for the Center and Study Abroad Shanghai programs.

In addition to overseeing Study Abroad Shanghai programs, Kevin also works in close collaboration with Global Programs leadership and other BU colleagues to support the University’s efforts to expand its global engagement. This includes advancing the profile and reputation of Boston University in China by supporting various BU admissions, teaching, and alumni efforts; facilitating global education exchange and collaboration efforts within the region; and leading a team helping to plan and manage logistics for strategic BU events in China.

Kevin joined Boston University in 2016 as Associate Director of the Beijing Gateway Office. Before that, he spent almost six years at New York University Shanghai, the third degree-granting campus within NYU’s global network and the first Sino-US joint venture university approved by China’s Ministry of Education. Kevin holds a BA and an MA in English Language and Literature from Ocean University of China and is working towards his doctoral degree in Education Leadership and Management at East China Normal University.
