Iris Ren (She/Her/Hers)

Student Ambassador, National University of Singapore Exchange

Pro-Tip: Join volunteering groups and clubs, join group projects with local students, and say yes to random excursions and group activities!

#1 Recommendation: Balance your trips abroad with full exploration of Singapore; Take a Malay class, learn Singaporean history from movies and food, take the MRT to libraries and read from Singaporean and Malaysian authors, join a club or try a sport not popularized in the US, or join a volunteering group to understand Singaporean systems. Brief trips to other countries will never give you the same opportunity to fully learn and grow from being in one for multiple months; so take advantage!
