As Assistant Director of Enrollment Services, Emma Van Loon is responsible for operational aspects of BU Study Abroad admissions and enrollment processes. She leads a team of six Study Abroad Program Managers within the larger Enrollment Services team.
Prior to serving as Assistant Director, Emma was a Program Manager for BU Study Abroad and worked directly with students as they prepared for their time abroad. Emma has worked in the field of international education for several years, having previously spent two years living and teaching as a TEFL certified ELS teacher in South Korea. She also worked as Senior Program Coordinator at the Center for International Studies Abroad (CIS abroad). During her time at CIS Abroad she oversaw programming in Australia, New Zealand, and Hawai’i.
Emma received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Rhode Island and is currently an MBA candidate at BU’s Questrom School of Business. During her undergraduate days, she studied abroad in Newcastle, Australia.
