The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Exchange Program provides Boston University School of Hospitality Administration students the opportunity to spend a term studying at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). PolyU’s School of Hotel & Tourism Management is top-ranked among academic institutions in hospitality and tourism worldwide based on faculty research. The school has an enrollment of 1,900 students with an internationally recognized faculty drawing from 18 countries, a majority of which have hospitality or tourism industry managerial experience. At PolyU, students can select from a broad range of course offerings and gain valuable knowledge in the field of hospitality. During their time in China, students will live in undergraduate residence halls

Curriculum
Students will directly enroll in PolyU’s School of Hotel & Tourism Management and can select from a broad range of course offerings. PolyU’s curriculum is modern and highly international, making this a truly valuable exchange opportunity for BU students seeking to hone their knowledge and skills in the field of hospitality. Upon successful completion of a semester, students will earn between 15 and 18 BU units.
Browse the undergraduate courses available to exchange students at PolyU. Students take 15–18 units during their term; courses are 3 units each. BU students are required to take at least half of their courses in the School of Hotel & Tourism Management.
Academic culture may be very different at a partner institution; PolyU provides a rigorous academic experience to both local and visiting students, and you will be subject to their academic policies and procedures during your time at this institution.

This program is not on a rolling admissions cycle. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all required materials have been received by the BU Study Abroad office by the application deadline. Decisions will not be made until after the application deadline. Applicants will receive their decision via email.

- 2025/2026 Tuition: $35,454 per term
