    Rich Barlow is a senior writer at BU Today and Bostonia magazine.   1. Great article! Thanks! However, B U is actually the largest university in the U.S. still officially affiliated with the United Methodist Church–like Duke, SMU, Emory, and other fine private universities. Others founded by Methodists include Vanderbilt, Syracuse, USC, Northwestern, and so on. The theology school carries the responsibility of the relationship with the denomination, which itself supports broad and nonsectarian education in the arts and sciences and professions. But BU remains one of the over 120 official institutions of higher education connected to the United Methodist Church.

  2. Whatever our official affiliation may be, what the Lord wants is our hearts and our all. I hope and pray that God leads us, as a community, to repent and put our hope in Jesus Christ, that we may be saved!
