Summary

Honoring Eve: A Symposium Celebrating the Work of Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick

Description

Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, who passed away last spring, was one of the founders of queer theory. Her work, including Epistemology of the Closet and Between Men, used critical theory and literary analysis to combat homophobia and re-imagine life outside the constraints of oppressive gender and sexual norms. She was also a gifted poet, a devoted teacher, and an inspiration to generations of scholars. Early in her career, Professor Sedgwick taught at Boston University, and we are very happy to be hosting this event in her memory. For more information and to register, visit online site below.
