GWISE Coffee and Conversations: Open Access in Science

Summary

GWISE Coffee and Conversations: Open Access in Science

Description

The debate surrounding open access to scientific results is heating up in a variety of ways. One example: a graduate student from Kazakhstan named Alexandra Elbakyan is believed to be hiding out in Russia after illegally leaking millions of scientific papers. Another example: researchers found that results are only published for as few as 40% of academic clinical trials, potentially hindering progress and future studies. Join GWISE and WISEguys as we discuss when, how, and to whom scientists should be reporting their findings, and with what level of oversight. Feel free to bring your lunch; dessert and drinks will be provided
