Led by Sandy Block, one of only 354 Masters of Wine in the world, this online course will explore the long and complex role wine has played in the history of human civilization, with a particular focus on wine’s use as a religious symbol, a token of status, an object of trade, and a consumer beverage in the last few hundred years. The online course features extensive readings, online lectures, and interactive materials.
