  • Starts: 9:30 am on Friday, October 26, 2018
  • Ends: 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018
The central aim of the conference is to bring prominent scholars who will explore cultural and sociopolitical phenomena related to Mexico, often neglected by national histories, and to engage with theories on translation and migration in the field of literary and film studies. 24 scholars and artists from across Europe, the United States, and Mexico have committed to present their work at the conference. Among them is Zapotec poet Natalia Toledo, who will read her poetry in Zapotec, Spanish, and English. Also, among the participants is the award-winning Mexican-American filmmaker Rodrigo Reyes, who will be screening his recent film Lupe under the Sun.
