Welcome to the Emergency Response Planning (ERP) web site where members of the Boston University community can easily access information to support Emergency Preparedness efforts for emergency response and recovery plans. This website also describes the Emergency Response Plan, protective actions and responses to the various situations.
The Boston University community can be threatened by emergency and disaster situations both natural (such as flash flooding, hurricanes, tornados and fires) and man-made (such as hazardous materials accidents, resource shortages, civil disorders and terrorist threats), and the purpose of the Boston University Emergency Response Planning website is to provide guidance and information to the response actions of University academic and administrative departments in crisis situations.
Our Mission:
Is to provide, enable, promote, and support The Boston University community in effectively mitigating, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies. Emergency Response Planning (ERP) is responsible for the maintenance, review, and revision to the University’s Emergency Response Plans. Emergency Response Planning also provides recommendations related to emergency management planning, training, and response coordination to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Facilities Management and Planning, BUMC Public Safety, BU Police Department, and members of the Emergency Response Team.
In addition, the ERP will participate in the development and implementation of new emergency response plans, risk reduction initiatives, risk prevention measures and serve as a liaison to local, state, and federal emergency management agencies
